Why do I need to trim the wick?A Lares candle will burn at it’s best if you trim the wick before each burn cycle when the wax is solid. The excess char part can be easily picked with your fingers. If you pick just the excess dark part, it will leave the wick at it’s optimum length for the best burning result. The wick should not be longer than 1/4 inch.

What are the safety instructions?Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep your candle away from children and pets. Do not burn a candle close to flammable objects and keep it away from drafts. Do not burn a candle for longer than 4h at a time Trim the wick before each burn cycle to 5mm lenght Never move a burning candle Ensure the flame is off and wax is solid and cool before handling Always burn a candle below eye sight

How do I clean the jar once my candle is done?We are glad you asked. Our precious jars can be reused once the candle has been burned. Please always leave about 5mm of wax at the bottom of your candle. Do not burn it all the way down. Once done, put the candle in your fridge overnight as soy wax contracts under cold temperature. Gently tap the candle upside down on a paper towel and the wax will easily come off. Wax the container with warm soapy water but not right when it’s fridge cold as sudden temperature change can produce fissures in the glass. Leave it out for an hour or two then clean it. Use is as a beautiful drinking glass for water or cocktails.

How long should I burn my candle for?Every burn cycle should be 3-4h when the candle is brand new. As it goes down and reaches middle of the container, it will take about 2h for the surface to fully melt. You can extinguish it when that has happened. The more it goes down the less time it takes for a full surface melt pool.
-
How do I make my candle last longer? This is a great question. Most common misuse is burning your candle long after you got a full surface melt pool. At that point the wax evaporates way quicker than while it forms the melt pool. As soon as you got a full surface melt pool, just extinguish the candle, let it solidify and light it up again but only after you have trimmed the wick. To make the candle last even longer, Lares candles have an intense cold throw as well which is the scent you sense while the candle is not lit. The longer the candle sits the stronger the cold throw is.
-
Why isn’t my candle melting evenly?Lares candles are all hand-made, including placing the wick in the glass. Sometimes the wick moves during pouring so it can come off the center. Do not worry, as the candle burns down the container the excess will melt and you will get an even melt pool.

How long do Lares candles burn for?Lares candles burn for about 55-60h. If burning instructions are followed it should last 60h easily.
